Originally from Sun Valley, Idaho I have lived in NYC since 2002. I started modeling at age 13 in Seattle (the closest big city to Idaho!) and eventually found myself on the East Coast. In addition to being a model, I am also a doula. I became intrigued by the experience of birth after having several close friends become mothers. This wasn’t an area that I ever thought I’d become passionate about but after doing some research I became intrigued and then horrified by what I discovered. The maternal mortality rate in the US is alarmingly high, and for POC it’s 3-4x! In NYC, it’s a shocking 12x higher rate. Once I learned this and realized that I fell into this category solely based on my ethnic background I dove even deeper.

I studied to become a birth doula and have been doing this work ever since. I am also a postpartum doula, childbirth educator, lactation counselor, pre/postnatal yoga and fitness instructor. To say I love being about pregnant people and new families is an understatement! I want people to know that they have choices and options when it comes to their pregnancies, birth and postpartum experience. My hope is to reach not only those who are expecting but society at large in an effort to normalize and bring light to some of the areas that have been kept quiet for far too long.

Since becoming a parent myself I have become even more passionate about supporting the postnatal period and bringing awareness to the needs of a new parent and family. My own journey into motherhood has been eye opening and I want everyone to have the knowledge, resources and support that they need and deserve during this incredibly transformative time in their lives.
