MaryAnn is also very passionate about health and wellness; trained in the Classical Pilates method she credits this foundation with her current fitness routines which includes: Yoga, Barre, cross training, outdoor sports and daily (Kundalini) meditation. As a beauty/wellness/age-positive ambassador she believes beauty is timeless, a reflection of one’s inner well being. MaryAnn was first scouted by Eileen Ford of the renowned Ford Modeling Agency and offered an exclusive contract at age 14. She instead went on to pursue her passion in the visual arts, earning a BFA in Graphic Design and an MFA, Masters of Fine Arts in painting. Her experience as a professional artist has been multi-faceted, from graphic designer to studio artist with gallery representation, as well as college professor within the arts & humanities, teaching courses in both fine art & design. However, three decades after first being discovered, MaryAnn could not ignore what she saw as a lack of age diversity within the beauty and fashion industries: “Women are powerful earners; we want to see our peers representing the products we buy!” So in 2015 at the uncommon age of 47, she made a decision which brought her full circle and began the modeling career she was forced to walk away from at fourteen! “I believe we are in a pro-age revolution! Modeling for me is a form of storytelling, an opportunity to express, to inspire positivity, women should feel empowered to age with grace and glow with pride in all aspects of their lives.”
Since her “return” to the fashion and beauty industry, MaryAnn has appeared in major publications such as: The New York Times, O’ The Oprah Magazine, Numero Russia Magazine, Refinery29 and Ageist Magazine to name a few. She has presented for top designers in NYFW, such as Deveaux New York, KES NY, as well as being featured in both national and international campaigns and television commercials for such clients as: Oribe, Lord & Taylor, Schwarzkopf Hair, MaryKay Cosmetics, and Chico’s. In addition she has been featured as the face of national and global beauty campaigns for major brands such as: AVEDA, Clarins Paris. “As a model representing mature women I want to reinterpret the notion of aging through looking and feeling fabulous. Wearing my age with a positive attitude.”
