I am a NY’er born and raised. I grew up during a time when the city was filled with the harsher realities of life. This forged my belief in using my artistic talents to speak for those that were less fortunate. I wrote plays, poetry and later screenplays in an effort to convey the trials and tribulations of people I came in contact with throughout my daily journeys. I believe being an artist gives me a chance to help mirror our society to its good, bad and ugly sides and contrasts that  with healthier ways to find balance. This became most apparent when I created my first film, "Svetlana’s Journey", a true story about a 13 year old Bulgarian girl sold into prostitution by her adopted parents. The international impact the film made on the global stage allowed me to see that as an artist I can give those underprivileged and suffering people a voice and demand change. I specifically want to influence the young generations as they are the future, as cliché as it sounds we need them to be empowered, enlightened, and educated. They will be the decision makers and helping them find harmony in this often chaotic world is a significant goal of mine.
