The narrative of my life has had a recurring theme…bursting bubbles, more specifically, the safe bubbly haven in which I grew up. My ‘bubble’ was abruptly burst when I was brutally attacked while running my business. I am a survivor of a violent crime. It’s not the only thing that I am but it is the one event in my life that helped me realize that I am stronger than I thought I was. After that incident, I was ‘bursting the bubbles’ that surrounded me in so many different ways. It took a scary, violent event to push toward the life that I always wanted.
I’d like to inspire and help young women create meaningful, long-lasting small businesses of their own. I’d also like to spread the message that women need to think about their personal safety at all times. Sharing in my children’s successes and growth into productive members of society makes me smile. Seeing women in my life and my friends on social media succeed brings me great satisfaction. My unique perspective stems from having created and built several small businesses from the ground up and pouring my blood, sweat and tears into them. I’ve seen some of them thrive and grow while others withered and failed. In both scenarios, I’ve adapted and that's been the key to my success. I’ve gone through a horrific experience and have come out the other side with a new outlook on life, on fear and on the places that I can go.
I want to be a Role Model because it will not only help me share my story, it will help me align with brands and clients that I believe in and that believe in me, as well.
