I never really considered myself to be a role model until I recently had a few people who informed me that I am an inspiration to them. I am currently balancing two careers; I work as both a model and public health worker. I am very passionate about global health and human rights and in the past I was blessed to serve as an advocate for HIV/AIDS patients, refugees and torture survivors.

My interest in modeling dates back to when I was 10 years old. At the time, I was living in Richmond, Virginia where there were very few modeling opportunities.  At the age of 16, I moved out of Virginia to California to pursue my dream of becoming a model. Within a few months of my move, I got signed but then decided to put my dream on hold due to my frustration with the Industry. During my time away from modeling I went to college and became very involved in my public health world.

It wasn't until my final year of graduate school that I decided to re-enter the Industry. Now, nearly three years into my new modeling journey, I have learned to a.) never give up on your dreams and b.) the importance of patience and consistency. I am a firm believer that hard work does pay off no matter how long the journey takes.

I wish to change how society views models and the many stigmas that are attached to modeling. We are more than just a "pretty face." Many of us are impacting the world in so many astounding ways. I hope that as a model for Role Model Management, that I can further illustrate how models are not only excelling in other avenues but also to show how much of a difference we're making across the globe!
