When I was 18 I left college to pursue my dream of becoming a model. I dove headfirst into the world of fashion. However, I soon realized that the world of glamour is not perfect. Often, it revolves around money and fame. As I grew as a person, I found it lacking depth and meaning, and I left the industry. By going plant-based, adopting a cruelty-free lifestyle, becoming conscious about waste production, and how we treat our planet, I started to lose admiration for fashion. The harsh reality of consumerism, ignorance, and cruelty was all I saw.
Despite that, my passion for art and design couldn’t be silenced. I believed that there must be a way to combine ethics and fashion and I was thrilled to discover people around the world who believe the same. Inspired by those like-minded artists and creatives, I decided to return to modeling and spread this message by supporting brands who share the same view.
The world is not cruel but It’s often trendsetters who lack mindfulness. It’s time we have conscious and responsible people set trends. We are responsible for what we leave after ourselves. We must admit our mistakes and teach our kids to do the same. Only by our own example can we influence others. No one is perfect but to me, a role model is someone who strives for the best every single day. By reconnecting to ourselves and the earth we can maintain our balance. Something that I have learned traveling the world and exploring different cultures is that we all look for balance. By healing ourselves first we open up unlimited reservoirs of love for others and the planet. Combining my love of modeling and writing I want to show that beauty can be sustainable and that change starts with us.
