Born and raised in the United States, Katherine is a passionate advocate for education and global citizenship. She is lucky to have begun her career as a fashion model, discovered by photographer Patrick Demarchelier after earning her university degree from Villanova University's School of Business. In high school, she turned down modeling contracts following the Elite Look of the Year contest listening to wise parents in order to attend college. As a model, she has been featured in fashion runway shows, magazine editorial spreads, television work, and advertising campaigns, in domestic and international fashion markets.
Katherine took a hiatus from the fashion world for which she was featured on CNN World News. She left her fashion career to pursue her U.S. government teaching certification simultaneously with work as a schoolteacher of diverse immigrant children in an inner city for over five years. An artist since childhood, she developed a series of decorative arts and jewelry during this time which was inspired by the diverse cultures of her students and international travels as a model, which was featured in a show at an art gallery as the first public show of her creative works.
She lives in New York City with her husband and is a Community Leader and advocate for UNICEF. She continues her jewelry designs which express her interest in global culture, having worked with artisans in locations including Kabul, Afghanistan, Cape Town, South Africa, and New York City. She recently styled the cover of L’Officiel magazine, featuring solely sustainable fashion designs, an expression of her passion for style and sustainability, and is an avid collector of vintage fashion.
