Alison Stroming was adopted from Recife, Brazil at the age of four months and started dancing when she was three years old. She was accepted to The School of American Ballet where she began her formal ballet training at the age of nine. She attended the American Ballet Theater Summer Intensive in New York in 2004. Franco De Vita, principal of the JKO School at ABT, offered her a full scholarship to the new Junior Division where she then continued her studies. With JKO she has performed in numerous technical demonstrations and performances at The Juilliard School, Guggenheim Museum, City Center, The Metropolitan Opera House, Joyce Theater, and The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

She is now in her third season with the Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York City. With the company, she has performed all across the United States and internationally in Tel Aviv, Israel, and the Ravenna Int'l Dance Festival in Ravenna, Italy. In addition to performing across the globe, Alison also travels to teach master classes, provide coaching and choreography to youth.

Alison mentors young girls in dancing, has worked for the non-profit company Girls Ink and been involved with Make a Wish not once, but twice. She wants to be a role model for young girls within the ballet world to find it in them to believe in themselves.
